Congress candidate from North-West Delhi for the Lok Sabha elections, Udit Raj blamed Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs and his own party workers for his electoral loss.

He pointed out that while Congress' INDI Alliance partner, AAP declared its candidate in February, the Congress did so in mid-April, blaming the then Congress district president.

"AAP workers were supporting Congress but then AAP MLAs thought that if votes get transferred to the Congress, they might not come back to the AAP in the 2025 Assembly elections," Raj said.

He alleged that instead of respecting the INDI Alliance, the AAP MLAs gave weight to their personal insecurities and let not people vote for the Congress.

Raj then blamed his own party leaders for running an anti-Brahmin, anti-Jat and outsider campaign against him. He alleged that despite his repeated complaints, no action was taken against these leaders.

"After elections, the reins of the party are again in their hands. Those who made us lose the election are running the party organisation in Delhi," the former BJP MP said.

He alleged that there are two Congresses in Delhi, one is of Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge and the other is of local party leaders, the latter is destroying efforts of the former.

"They did so in 2014 and 2019. Their work is to oppose anyone who contests the Lok Sabha election. BJP did not oppose me. Those who made Congress lose are getting promoted," Raj alleged.

He asserted that he invested five years but was made to lose. He also claimed that he was winning as per Satta bazars, BJP's internal survey and IB survey.

"If these people stay in the party, then the situation will be same as has been for 10 to 12 years. In 2020, we could get on 4.25 per cent votes. Actions should be take against them," he told ANI.
