Continuing 500 Years Connection, Ayodhya Sikhs To Organise 'Akhand Path' At Gurdwara Ahead Of Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha

As Ayodhya gears up for the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony of the Ram Temple, the Sikh community has announced a three-day 'Akhand Path' at Gurdwara Brahm Kund Sahib from 19 to 21 January, as reported by Business Standard.

The 'Akhand Path,' a significant ritual in Sikhism, holds spiritual importance and is aimed at ensuring the smooth conduct of the upcoming 'Pran Pratishtha.'

R P Singh, BJP national spokesperson, said, "Sikhs from various parts of the country will participate in the 'Akhand Path.' There is a great history of connection between Sikhs, Lord Ram, and Ayodhya."

Singh also highlighted the historical context, citing Guru Nanak Dev Ji's visit to the Ram temple in 1510, which the Supreme Court considered a key piece of evidence.

Singh noted that Nihangs performed rituals inside the Ram temple in 1858.

The 'Akhand Path' involves continuous recitation of the Guru Granth Sahib, the holy book of Sikhs, lasting over 48 hours.

A dedicated team of readers ensures uninterrupted recitation, resonating with the divine scripture until the conclusion of the ceremony.

This spiritual initiative by the Sikh community emphasises the historical and cultural ties between Sikhs, Lord Ram, and Ayodhya.
