On Monday (22 January), the 'Pran Pratishtha' of Lord Ram at Ayodhya temple was completed.
However, Malayalam film industry celebrities decided to take a very different stand and took to social media to share images of the Preamble of the Indian Constitution.
Notable personalities that the shared preamble includes Parvathy Thiruvothu, Rima Kallingal, Divya Prabha, Rajesh Madhavan, Kani Kusruti, directors Jeo Baby, Aashiq Abu, Kamal KM, Kunjila Mascillamani, and singer Sooraj Santhosh.
Celebrities, including Parvathy Thiruvothu and Rima Kallingal also focused on constitutional values such as justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity in their posts.
This 'expression of values' has sparked online debates, with some supporting the celebrities for upholding secularism while others accuse them of being 'anti-Hindu.'
Last week, Malayalam singer K S Chithra had faced backlash after encouraging followers to light lamps and recite the Ram mantra.
The incident led to political polarisation in Kerala, with some people criticising her for endorsing a temple built on the ruins of the disputed structure.
The Bharatiya Janata Party, meanwhile, alleged that the criticism towards Chithra was part of an organised attack on the Hindu faith.
