Details Of 3 FIRs On Nuh Violence: Mob Attack On Judge, Stone Pelting On Police, Trapped People In Temple

Among the 41 FIRs filed in connection with the recent communal flare-up in Nuh, Haryana's Mewat region, one account describes a mob attack on a car carrying a civil judge and her three-year-old daughter as they returned from a hospital.

The FIR, dated 1 August, was lodged by Tekchand, a process server at the Nuh district court.

According to the complaint, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Anjali Jain, her daughter, a gunman, and Tekchand were traveling back from SHKM Medical College when they encountered a mob of 100-150 people who started pelting stones at their vehicle.

The situation escalated, and they sought refuge in a local workshop at the bus stand until they were rescued by some lawyers. The car was later found completely burnt.

Another FIR narrates the attack on two home guards and police officers who were dispatched to Nuh to control the violence. The bus carrying the police personnel and home guards was waylaid by a mob near Cyber police station in Nuh.

The complainant, Inspector Ajay Kumar, stated that they were attacked with deadly weapons, stones, and sticks, resulting in injuries to several officers, including the deaths of home guards Neeraj and Gursev.

“As stones rained, it hit all police personnel and the glasses of the vehicles were broken. My vehicle overturned after hitting the stones and we were thrashed with stones, sticks, and iron rods. Mobile phones and wallets of the police personnel were snatched. In an act of self-defence, a personnel in the police party fired in the air and somehow saved the lives of the police personnel,” the Inspector stated.

After the incident, the injured personnel were promptly taken to the hospital. Among them, six individuals, including Neeraj and Gursev, sustained severe injuries. Gursev received medical attention at Sohna general hospital, while the complainant and other injured personnel were admitted to a private hospital in Gurgaon.

Following the incident, an FIR was registered, encompassing IPC sections related to murder, rioting, attempted murder, criminal conspiracy, and relevant sections of the Arms Act to address the gravity of the situation and initiate necessary legal action.

In a third FIR, Abid Hussain, a duty magistrate during the yatra reported how 35-40 yatris took shelter in a temple while 700-800 people from a different community were pelting stones and using illegal weapons against them and the police administration.

He said the mob was setting private and government vehicles on fire. “Around 35-40 people were trapped at the mandir in ward 9 and have been kept locked. They were not allowed to leave by 400-500 people. When we reached the temple, they started to attack with sticks, stones and illegal weapons and started to fire with an intention to kill us,” he stated.

“On my orders, police station City Nuh SHO, with the help of his police force, used police force on the furious crowd, after which they ran away, scattering from the area with their weapons so we could free the passengers stuck in the temple…They attacked me as well as the police force with bricks, stones, sticks and illegal weapons,” he said.

The FIR was registered under IPC sections that included rioting, attempted murder, wrongful confinement and provisions of the Arms Act.
