Former Chief Minister and JD(S) leader and Lok Sabha candidate from Mandya, H D Kumaraswamy, has predicted the collapse of the Congress-led state government in Karnataka by the end of December.

Speaking at a BJP-JD(S) coordination committee meeting in Mandya, Kumaraswamy expressed confidence in the victory of alliance candidates in all 28 Lok Sabha segments.

As reported by Deccan Herald, Kumaraswamy attributed the Congress's ascent to power in Karnataka to fortuitous circumstances rather than its own strength, stating, "Congress did not come to power on its strength in Karnataka. It won by accident. It will fall by the end of the year."

The Congress government in the state will fall due to the internal fight among Congress leaders, he stated.

He reminisced about the BJP-JD(S) alliance in 2004 and highlighted their previous tenure, asserting that the alliance candidates are poised for success in the upcoming elections.

Reflecting on his political journey, Kumaraswamy lamented being labeled as a scapegoat and enduring a political "Vanavasa" (exile) for the past 17 years.

Addressing queries about incumbent MP A Sumalatha's support, Kumaraswamy expressed confidence in securing her backing.

Also, he announced plans to file his nomination papers on 4 April.
