Global Passport Ranking 2024: India Ranked At 82nd Place With Visa-Free Access To 58 Countries; Singapore Tops The List

The Henley Passport Index published its latest rankings, placing the Indian passport at the 82nd position, slightly improving its standing by two places from the last year's 84th spot.

The index's rankings are based on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), which is known for maintaining the most comprehensive and precise database of global travel information.

India shares its 82nd position with countries such as Senegal and Tajikistan.

The Singaporean passport has been declared the most powerful in the world, offering visa-free access to an 195 countries, according to the index.

Following closely, passports from France, Italy, Germany, and Spain, along with Japan, hold the second position with access to 192 destinations.

Ranking third on the list are passports from Austria, Finland, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, South Korea, and Sweden, all providing visa-free access to 191 destinations.

The United Kingdom stands at fourth place, tied with New Zealand, Norway, Belgium, Denmark, and Switzerland.

Australia and Portugal share the fifth spot, while the United States has dropped to eighth place, offering visa-free access to 186 countries.

Indian passport holders, with access to 58 countries, can travel visa-free to popular destinations such as Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand.

Neighbouring Pakistan is positioned at 100th, providing passport holders access to 33 countries.

Afghanistan is placed at the bottom of the list with easy access to 26 destinations.
