Hyderabad Man Boards Vande Bharat Train To Use Toilet, Ends Up Losing Rs 6,000

A man from Hyderabad reportedly lost Rs 6,000 when he used the toilet on the Vande Bharat Express train at Bhopal's Rani Kamalapati railway station, as per India Today.

Abdul Qadir, a resident of Hyderabad, was traveling with his wife and eight-year-old son to Singrauli in Madhya Pradesh. After arriving in Bhopal, they were preparing to board a train to Singrauli.

While waiting at the railway platform, Qadir urgently needed to urinate but couldn't find a restroom nearby. He decided to board the Indore-bound Vande Bharat train, which had just stopped at the station, in order to use its washroom.

However, upon exiting the train's toilet, Qadir realised that the train doors were locked and it had already started moving away from the platform.

Qadir was worried and sought help from police officers and ticket collectors on the train. Unfortunately, they informed him that only the driver had the ability to open the doors. Despite his attempts, Qadir was unable to reach the driver.

Due to boarding the train without a valid ticket, Qadir was fined Rs 1,020. Additionally, when he arrived in Ujjain, he had to pay Rs 750 for a bus ticket to Bhopal, in order to re-unite with his stranded family.

Meanwhile, Qadir's family decided not to take the Singrauli-bound Dakshin Express due to their concerns for his well-being.

Consequently, they forfeited their Rs 4,000 worth of reserved tickets, resulting in Abdul losing nearly Rs 6,000 for using the Vande Bharat restroom, according to the report.

Qadir, on the other hand, claimed that his family endured this ordeal because of the absence of an emergency system on the semi-high speed trains. He believes that this incident highlights the flaws in the train's emergency system.

In response to the allegations, Subedar Singh, the PRO of the Bhopal Railway Division, clarified that before the Vande Bharat train begins its journey, an announcement is made to inform passengers about the direction in which the doors will open and that the doors are being locked.

These safety measures are implemented on the train to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of passengers.

Additionally, Singh emphasised that the Vande Bharat train can only be halted upon receiving orders from higher authorities, as reported.
