Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking at the conclusion of BJP state unit President K Annamalai’s state-wide yatra, accused the constituents of the INDI Alliance of conceding defeat but aiming to exploit Tamil Nadu.
The PM asserted that under his leadership, development efforts were inclusive, benefiting all segments of society, according to a report from The Print.
Modi criticised the opposition for prioritising dynasty politics over the welfare of the people, contrasting their approach with the legacy of leaders like MGR and Jayalalithaa, who he praised for their focus on meritocracy and public service.
He further accused the opposition of spreading lies and attempting to divide the people but expressed confidence in the people of Tamil Nadu to see through such tactics.
Modi stated, "They want to save their power by lying, dividing people and making people fight amongst each other, but the people of Tamil Nadu are as intelligent as they are pure of heart. They know the truth, they know the reality.”
Modi also emphasised his connection with the state, highlighting his efforts to honor its cultural heritage, such as by installing the ‘sengol’ in Parliament.
