Madhya Pradesh Congress released its manifesto and slogan 'Congress ayegi, khushhali layegi' (Congress will come and bring happiness) on Tuesday (17 October) for the assembly elections scheduled for 17 November.
Former Chief Minister and state Congress president Kamal Nath announced that the manifesto deals with 59 issues, 225 points and 1,290 vachan (promises) and is committed to the earlier promises as well which are as follows-
Continuing the Jai Kisan Rin Mafi Yojana for waiving off farmers' loans.
Providing Rs 1,500 per month to women under the Nari Samman Nidhi scheme.
Supplying domestic gas cylinders at a cost of Rs 500.
Implementing the Indira Grih Jyoti Yojana, providing 100 units free and 200 units at half the rate.
Starting the old pension scheme of 2005.
Providing free electricity of 5 horsepower for irrigation to farmers.
Waiving outstanding electricity bills of farmers.
Reviewing false and baseless cases related to the farmer agitation and electricity.
Increasing the pension amount for differently-abled persons to Rs 2,000.
Conducting a caste-based census.
Providing 27 per cent reservation for OBCs in government services and schemes.
Establishing Sant Shiromani Ravidas Skill Development University in Sagar in honour of Sant Ravidas.
Setting the wage rate for tendu leaf labor at Rs 4,000 per standard sack.
Monthly financial assistance to students in government schools. Students from class 1 to 8 will receive Rs 500, for classes 9 and 10, it will be Rs 1,000, and for students in classes 11 and 12, the assistance will be Rs 1,500.
Education in schools will be free in Madhya Pradesh.
In tribal-dominated areas, the Congress, during its term, will implement the PESA Act (Panchayats (Extension to Scheduled Areas) Act).
Here are the new promises-
Congress government will buy paddy at Rs 2,500 per quintal and wheat at Rs 2,600 per quintal from farmers.
Under the Nandia Gau Dhan Yojana, cow dung will be bought at Rs 2 per kilogram.
2 lakh job opportunities for youth including 1 lakh new posts at the village level and attracting industrial investment for private sector job opportunities.
Yuva Swambhiman Yojana for unemployed youth- Rs 1,500 to Rs 3,000 allowance will be given.
25 lakh health insurance and Rs 10 lakh accident insurance.
1.01 lakh assistance for girl's marriage.
Social security pension of Rs 1,200.
Meri Beti Rani Yojana will give Rs 2.51 lakh to girls from birth to marriage.
Efforts to make an IPL (Indian Premiere League) team for Madhya Pradesh.
To encourage sportspersons, they will be given government jobs, money and cars for bringing medals.
Kamal Nath concluded his address with nine rights that the Congress intends to ensure- Right to water, right to health, right to electricity, right to education, right to house, right to minimum income, right to job opportunity and right to social justice.
