The Israeli embassy in India expressed deep shock over the death of an Indian national and injury to two others in Israel and blamed the "Shia Terror organisation Hezbollah" for the "cowardly terror attack".
The killed Indian is 31-year-old Nibil Maxwell, a native of Kerala's Kollam. He went to Israel two months ago to work on a farm. The two injured are identified as Joseph and Paul Melvin. They also hail from Kerala.
'Israel in India' said that "peaceful agriculture workers" were attacked while cultivating an orchard at the northern village of Margaliot yesterday (4 March) early afternoon. The attack was around 4 pm as per IST.
Asserting that Israeli Medical institutions are completely at the service of the injured and they are being treated by the very best medical staff, Israel pledged support to the families and offered them assistance.
Nibil’s relative told The Indian Express that Nibil had shared his concern about the volatile situation in the region and plans to move to another location. However, the missile attack happened later in the evening.
Nibil’s elder brother Nivin also works in Israel. He was reportedly told earlier that Nibil was injured in the missile attack. However, was later informed about his death. Nibil was married and had a child.
