'Jai Bhim, Jai Meem, Jai Telangana, Jai Palestine, Allah-u-Akbar': Owaisi Concludes Oath In Lok Sabha With These Phrases

After taking oath in Lok Sabha, Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi concluded with phrases, "Jai Bhim, Jai Meem, Jai Telangana, Jai Palestine, Takbeer, Allah-u-Akbar."

This created controversy because India supports a two-state solution for the co-existence of Israel and Palestine. India has diplomatic ties with both countries.

When All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Owaisi was asked about the use of these phrases, he said, "Everyone is saying a lot of things... How is it against the Constitution, tell me which provision tells this."

When asked what his intent was in expressing support for Palestine, Owaisi said, "Palestine is facing atrocities. What did Mahatma Gandhi say about Palestine? Read that."

Israel and Palestine have been in conflict for decades. This was escalated on 7 October 2023 when the terrorist group ruling Gaza of Palestine, Hamas attacked Israel.

Since then, Israel has also made many retaliatory attacks. However, many of the Israeli hostages that Hamas captured on 7 October 2023, are still in its capture.
