Starting tonight, Karnataka will see a complete lockdown for 15 days up to 12 May 2021. Here’s a list of all that will stay open and those that will have to stay shut for the period.
What stays shut:
Schools, colleges, educational institutions, restaurants and hospitality services, metro rail services, taxis and autorickshaws, stadia and playgrounds, cinema halls, gyms, swimming pools, parks , clubs, theatres, bars and auditoriums.
All religious places will stay shut for the public and rituals and ceremonies shall be held with no public in attendance.
No movement of public or private buses or passenger vehicles, no inter-district, intra-district, inter-state and intra-state movement unless in case of emergencies.
What can function as always:
Shops dealing with food, groceries, and other essentials along with liquor outlets and standalone shops shall function from 6 am to 10 am, while public distribution shops stay open. Home delivery items are permitted movement 24/7 to reduce movement of people outside their homes.
Banks, insurance offices, ATMs, print and electronic media and all food processing and related industries, telecommunication, internet and cable service, capital and debt market services, private security services, aviation related services, all industrial establishments and production units except those relating to garments manufacturing shall stay open.
All construction activity can go on as usual, with safety protocols in place.
Marriages will be permitted with only 50 people in attendance, while funerals will have only five people.
All agricultural activities and allied activities like fishing, poultry, meat and diary will be permitted outside containment zones. MNREGA works too will continue, so will all construction pertaining to medical and health infra in the state.
All health services including veterinary hospitals and AYUSH centres are permitted to stay open outside containment zones.
