The Kerala Police has filed a First Information Report (FIR) against Union Minister of State (MoS) Rajeev Chandrasekhar.

The FIR was registered in response to allegations of Chandrasekhar making statements that promote enmity between different groups, as reported by Livemint.

Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) had previously lodged a complaint with the Kerala Director General of Police (DGP) against MoS Chandrasekhar.

The complaint accused him of spreading an unfounded international conspiracy theory and hate propaganda regarding the Kalamassery blast.

The FIR also includes Anil Antony, a BJP member.

Rajeev Chandrasekhar had taken to the social media platform X to blame a particular community for the multiple blasts at a Christian gathering near Kochi, which resulted in three deaths and over 50 injuries.

Chandrasekhar criticised the Kerala state government led by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, accusing them of engaging in appeasement politics.

The exchange escalated with CM Vijayan characterising Chandrasekhar's statements as reflecting an "absolute communal outlook," and the two leaders engaging in verbal clashes, with Chandrasekhar calling the CM a "liar" and the CM labeling the minister "extremely venomous".
