The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is reportedly gearing up to further investigate Mahesh Nagar, a purported associate of Robert Vadra, the son-in-law of former Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, in connection with the Bikaner land purchase scandal.
According to a report by Economic Times, the ED is expected to summon Nagar for questioning regarding his alleged involvement in the controversy.
Earlier this year, Nagar had approached the Supreme Court challenging the proceedings initiated by the ED under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
Previously, Nagar had filed an appeal against a Rajasthan High Court order that had dismissed his plea seeking the quashing of the ECIR (equivalent to an FIR) registered by the ED and its subsequent proceedings in December of the previous year.
As the ED intensifies its scrutiny into the Bikaner land purchase scandal, the legal battle involving Nagar and the alleged associates of Vadra continues to unfold.
