In a recent global report, India has secured the third position in the list of the world's richest people, with a total of 271 billionaires.
The Hurun Global Rich List 2024 revealed these figures, with Mumbai making history as Asia's new billionaire capital.
Notably, Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani occupies a prominent spot in this list.
The report highlighted that India witnessed a significant surge in billionaire count, adding nearly 100 billionaires in the past year alone.
As reported by Indian Express, Mumbai's rise to prominence surpassed Beijing for the first time, solidifying its status among the top three cities globally.
Furthermore, New Delhi secured a notable position, breaking into the top 10 cities for billionaires for the first time in history.
Meanwhile, the United States and China continue to dominate the billionaire landscape, with 800 and 814 billionaires respectively.
However, while both the US and India experienced a considerable increase in billionaire count, China saw a decrease of 155 billionaires compared to the previous year.
The report also highlighted notable individuals, with Elon Musk reclaiming the title of the world's wealthiest person, driven by Tesla's soaring stock prices.
Moreover, the report predicts that the world may witness its first trillionaires by 2030, given the rapid pace of wealth accumulation.
Compiled by the Hurun Research Institute, the Hurun Global Rich List 2024 provides a comprehensive snapshot of the world's billionaires as of 15 January 2024.
