The National Testing Agency on Friday (26 July) announced the re-revised National Eligibility cum Entrance Test - Undergraduate (NEET-UG) – 2024 results after taking into account the correct answer for a controversial physics question.
The cut-off for general category candidates has been decreased from 720-164 in the initial 4 June results to 720-162 in the re-revised results.
Seventeen students have achieved the top rank in the country, each scoring a percentile of 99.9992714.
For candidates from the scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, and other backward classes, the NEET-UG cut-off is 161-127.
For SC-PH and OBC-PH candidates, the cut-off is set at 143-127.
The cut-off of for ST-PH has been set at 142-127.
For General category candidates, the NEET cut-off for MBBS and BDS courses is the 50th percentile, while for OBC, SC, and ST candidates, it is the 40th percentile.
The NTA determines the NEET UG percentile on the basis of the highest marks scored in the all-India common merit list in NEET UG 2024.
A total of 24,06,079 students had registered for NEET UG 2024, with 23,33,162 appearing for the test. Of these, 13,15,853 candidates have qualified.
According to NTA data, 5,46,566 male students, 7,69,277 female students, and 10 transgender students have successfully qualified.
Following the release of the re-revised NEET UG 2024 results, the dates for all-India quota (AIQ) seat counselling are expected to be announced soon, Indian Express reported.
The counselling committees – Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and the AYUSH Admissions Central Counseling Committee (AACCC) are yet to announce an update on the NEET counselling 2024 dates.
