The Prajwal Revanna sexual abuse case has taken a new turn with a recent audio clip going viral, allegedly featuring Congress leader L R Shivarame Gowda, as per a report by The Hindu.
In the clip, Shivarame Gowda appears to be trying to persuade BJP's Devaraje Gowda to distribute pendrives containing obscene videos purportedly involving the Hassan MP.
In the audio, Shivarame Gowda urges Devaraje Gowda to hand over all the videos related to the case to him, saying, “Do not underestimate Kumaraswamy, former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, and his family. The government is determined to ruin their lives. I am wondering why Deve Gowda has not committed suicide till now.” He further states, “What is wrong with sharing the videos?”
When the BJP leader argues that sharing the videos would negatively impact the victims, the Congress leader responds by citing Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s recent remark in Chennai that Karnataka is not a safe place for women.
On Friday, Devaraje Gowda alleged that Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar had offered him Rs 100 crore to accuse Kumaraswamy of orchestrating the circulation of the pendrives.
Responding to the audio, the JD(S) made a serious allegation that the state Congress government had conspired to endanger Deve Gowda's life.
In a social media post, the JD(S) claimed that the Congress government had systematically targeted Deve Gowda’s family with the intent to ruin their lives. “The latest audio has exposed the Congress’ true colors,” the party stated.
The JD(S) further alleged that state Congress president Shivakumar is the “original owner of the pendrive factory” and accused him of leading a “sleeper cell” for pendrive distribution.
The JD(S) accused Shivakumar and his “sleeper cell” of hatching four conspiracies aimed at discrediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, tarnishing Kumaraswamy’s image, breaking the JD(S)-BJP alliance, and plotting to kill Deve Gowda.
Referring to Devaraje Gowda’s allegations that Shivakumar had offered him Rs 100 crore for pendrive distribution, the JD(S) statement said that a team of four ministers was set up to carry out the conspiracy and spread slander against Modi and Kumaraswamy.
In response to the viral audio clip, the JD(S) has decided to hold a protest against Congress leaders Shivakumar and Shivarame Gowda in Bengaluru on Monday.
According to a release, the JD(S) is protesting to condemn the alleged derogatory remarks made by Shivarame Gowda in the audio clip against former PM Deve Gowda, claiming that these remarks were made at Shivakumar’s behest.
