Parliament Security Breach Case: Five Accused Transported To Gujarat For Polygraph Tests, Narco-Analysis Examinations

The Delhi police announced on Monday (8 January) that five out of the six individuals charged in the Parliament security breach case have been transported to Gujarat for polygraph and narco-analysis examinations, The Hindu reported.

The individuals under accusation, namely Sagar Sharma, Manoranjan D, Amol Shinde, Lalit Jha, and Mahesh Kumawat, will undergo tests at the Forensic Science Laboratory located in Gandhinagar, as stated by an officer, the sources confirmed.

The police had last week requested permission to conduct polygraph tests on all the accused. It also sought narcotics and brain mapping tests specifically for accused Manoranjan D and Sagar Sharma.

In another update, the Delhi High Court rejected a plea on 3 January filed by the sixth accused Neelam Azad seeking her release on the grounds of alleged illegality in her police remand.

Manoranjan and Sagar had jumped into the Lok Sabha hall and released smoke canisters, and Neelam Azad and Amol Shinde were apprehended for releasing smoke canisters outside the new Parliament building on 13 December.

Two additional individuals, Lalit Jha and Mahesh Kumawat, were previously arrested and presented in court. Jha, the main accused, is charged with destroying evidence related to the conspiracy.
