Parliament Security Breach On 2001 Terror Attack Anniversary: Two Men Enter Lok Sabha, Open Smoke Canisters; Arrested

In a serious security breach, two men entered into the Lok Sabha on Wednesday (13 December) while the proceedings were going on and reportedly opened gas canisters that emitted yellow smoke.

They also jumped into the Well, shouting after which the security personnel caught them. They had reportedly been arrested by the Police.

Lok Sabha MP Rajendra Aggarwal, who was chairing the session, adjourned the proceedings of the Lower House in the wake of the security breach.

In the visuals on Sansad TV, a man wearing a blue jacket can be seen jumping over benches in the House. Pictures shared by DMK MP Dr Senthilkumar show yellow smoke inside the House.

Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said two persons jumped from the public gallery into Lok Sabha chamber, were overpowered by members. Second person was dangling from public gallery of LS, sprayed some kind of "gas" which caused eye irritation. 

This security breach comes on the 22nd anniversary of the deadly 2001 Parliament Attack.
