Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday (30 May) evening reached Tamil Nadu after campaigning for the Lok Sabha elections in Punjab and offered prayer at Bhagavathy Amman Temple in Kanniyakumari.

After this, he will meditate at the Dhyan Mandapam of Vivekananda Rock Memorial till the evening of 1 June. This is the same place where Swami Vivekananda meditated for three days.

t is similar to what PM Modi did before the results of the 2019 elections. His photos of meditating in a holy cave near Kedarnath and dressed in a saffron robe went viral.

Heavy security including 2,000 police personnel and several security agencies is being maintained to keep a tight vigil during the PM's programme.
