A man was arrested by the police in Kolkata for attempting to enter the residence of West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee.

The individual, identified as Sheikh Noor Alam, was apprehended by the police while trying to enter the lane leading to the chief minister's house.

The police discovered a firearm, a knife, and illegal substances in his possession, along with multiple ID cards from various agencies.

Reportedly, he was found traveling in a car with a police sticker on it.

The police, along with the Special Task Force (STF) and the special branch, are currently interrogating the suspect at a local police station.
