Prashant Kishor Promises Fielding At Least 40 Muslims In Bihar Elections; Says Fight Between Jan Suraaj And NDA, Not RJD

Former election strategist Prashant Kishor asserted that his party Jan Suraaj will form a government in Bihar after the 2025 assembly elections and said that his main fight is against the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

Kishor also claimed that his party would field at least 40 Muslim leaders in the upcoming assembly elections, which is in proportion to their population in the state.

As per the 2011 census, Muslims account for nearly 17 per cent of the Bihar's population. There are 243 seats in the Bihar Legislative Assembly. Its 17 per cent is 41 seats approximately.

Kishor clarified that his claim is in line with Jan Suraaj's vision of providing representation to all sections of their society in proportion to their population and challenged the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).

"RJD has been claiming of being savior of Muslims for last 30 years. If they are concerned about division of Muslim votes, then we will not field Muslim candidates, where they will field Muslims," he said.

Kishor challenged RJD to stop taking rights of Muslims and dared them to give tickets to Muslims in proportion of their population and promised to field Hindu candidates if RJD accepts his challenge.

He did not reveal the Chief Minister face of the Jan Suraaj party. He also said that as per the Lok Sabha election results, his fight is against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led NDA.

"NDA leads at 176 seats. Nobody is taking RJD seriously. Fight is between Jan Suraaj and NDA. Let RJD sit on dharna or anshan (We don't care)," Kishor told reporters.
