Priyanka Gandhi, Dimple Yadav Were In A Hurry; Have Deputed Me To Seek Darshan At Temple: Congress Varanasi Candidate Ajay Rai

Uttar Pradesh Congress president and party's Lok Sabha candidate from Varanasi against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ajay Rai expressed confidence over his victory after Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Dimple Yadav's road show.

The Congress and Samajwadi Party (SP) leaders held joint road show for Rai in Varanasi on Saturday (25 May) but left the city without paying a visit to the Durga temple, where Rai went alone.

Giving a clarification in this regard, Rai said, "It was very crowded. They worshipped from outside and went to airport. They sent me. I came here as their representative, had darshan and took blessing."

"It was a historic roadshow... Lakhs of people were on the roads of Kashi... She (Priyanka Gandhi Vadra) said that this roadshow has proven that our candidate will win Narendra Modi is losing the elections. I am absolutely confident," he added.

However, the three leaders had darshan at the Kashi's kotwal, Kaal Bhairav temple prior to the road show. Rai said that Vadra and Yadav had tight schedules of road show and plane take-off, due to which they could not go to another temple.
