Rajasthan Rally: PM Modi Slams Congress Over Murder Of Hindu Tailor By Islamists

During a public gathering in Chittorgarh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the Congress government in Rajasthan for their handling of a tragic incident involving the murder of Kanhaiya Lal, a tailor, in Udaipur last year.

Modi expressed his shock and disbelief regarding the incident and stressed the breach of trust it represented. He pointed out that the Congress government appeared more concerned about maintaining their vote bank than addressing such a heinous crime.

The murder of Kanhaiya Lal last year was linked to his support for former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma.

Modi questioned the image that the Congress government has projected to the world, highlighting that Rajasthan has lost its reputation as a peaceful place for celebrating festivals.

Prime Minister Modi emphasized the necessity for change and asserted that only a BJP government can address the concerns of the people and highlighted the BJP's track record in effectively dealing with rioters and criminals.

Modi referred to the Congress government as a "kursi bachao sarkar" (a government focused on saving their chairs). He raised concerns about women's safety, law and order, and the influence of the 'paper leak mafia.'

During his address, Modi drew attention to the alarming crime statistics in Rajasthan, which ranks at the top in terms of crime rates.

He accused the government of mismanagement during their five-year rule, leading to a state of turmoil in Rajasthan.

Modi took a dig at Gehlot, suggesting that the Chief Minister was primarily concerned with safeguarding his own position and that the Congress party was preoccupied with destabilizing his chair.

Modi emphasized that the people of Rajasthan have expressed their trust in the BJP, believing that their governance will put an end to hooliganism, riots, stone-pelting, and corruption.

He assured that the BJP had heard the people's message, particularly regarding women's security, employment, and prosperity for Rajasthan.

Additionally, Modi addressed the issue of paper leaks in the state, promising a thorough investigation and the strictest punishments for those responsible. He assured the youth that the government would take decisive action against the paper leak mafia.

Earlier in the day, the PM inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for multiple development projects worth Rs 7,000 crore in Rajasthan's Chittorgarh.

These projects include the inauguration of the Mehsana-Bathinda-Gurdaspur gas pipeline, an LPG plant on Abu road, railway projects, tourism facilities, and the permanent campus of the Indian Institute of Information Technology in Kota.

Modi also inaugurated a new four-lane road on National Highway 12 in the Darah-Jhalawar-Teendhar section, constructed at a cost of Rs 1,480 crore.
