After the death of three UPSC aspirants due to flooding in the basement of Rau’s IAS Study Circle, the Delhi Police on Monday (29 July) made five more arrests after arresting the CEO and the coaching coordinator on Sunday.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Harsha Vardhan said that the owner of the basement is among those arrested today. The total arrests in the case have gone up to seven.
Meanwhile, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) also sealed 13 coaching centres in Old Rajinder Nagar till Sunday night. A high-level committee will also be formed to investigate.
IAS Gurukul, Chahal Academy, Plutus Academy, Sai Trading, IAS Setu, Topper’s Academy, Dainik Samvad, Civils Daily IAS, Career Power, 99 Notes, Vidya Guru, Guidance IAS, and Easy for IAS are the sealed institutes.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Praveen Khandelwal has blamed the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) citing that the MCD is under AAP and the AAP has been ruling in Delhi for nine years.
