Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday (19 May) criticised the Congress and its leader Rahul Gandhi, claiming that industrialists would hesitate to invest in states governed by the party due to the "shehzada's use of Maoist language."
Speaking at a poll rally, Modi accused the Congress of fostering dynastic politics and treating Lok Sabha seats as "ancestral properties."
"The language used by the Congress 'shehzada' will make any industrialist think 50 times before investing in states ruled by the party. The 'shehzada' is using language spoken by Maoists and is extorting money through innovative methods," the PM stated, in an apparent reference to Gandhi.
Modi, addressing a public meeting for Lok Sabha elections in Jamshedpur, challenged the chief ministers of Congress and INDI Alliance-ruled states to respond to whether they endorse the anti-industry language of their 'shehzada.'
PM Modi stated, "Congress and their ally parties, wherever they have governments, I am challenging those CMs and this is not my political statement... their 'Shehzada' keeps opposing business industries, businessmen and investments. Which businessman will go and invest in those states? What will happen to the youths of those states?"
He further continued, "...all investors who come to me say that they won't go to these states because of their ideology against them, businessmen are verbally abused there... investors will think that since 'Shehzada' has these thoughts, his ally parties would have same thoughts as well."
Mocking Gandhi's decision to contest from the Raebareli Lok Sabha seat, Modi remarked that the Congress 'shehzada' rushed to the constituency, claiming "it is my mummy's seat," something even an eight-year-old school boy wouldn't say.
Modi also accused the Congress of neglecting basic amenities and alleged that during its previous regimes, the condition of 18,000 villages was akin to that of the 18th century.
PM Modi said, launching a scathing attack on the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, "Congress and JMM know nothing about development. Their only job is to speak lies, loudly, again and again, and everywhere... their goal is to do the X-ray of poor people's wealth and steal it. They want to snatch the reservation of SC and ST, They abuse Modi every day. Can't they think about anything beyond this?... the whole country has realised their truth."
