Giving further details about the six terrorists killed in two separate encounters in the Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, the security officials said that they belonged to Hizbul Mujahideen.

Both encounters witnessed one Indian Army soldier losing their life in each. China Corps Commander paid homage to Lance Naik Pardeep Kumar and Sepoy Pravin Janjal Prabhakar on Sunday (7 July).

The first encounter happened in Madergam where Faisal and Adil were killed, while the second broke out in Chinnigam Frisal killing four terrorists including one local commander of the Hizbul Mujahideen.

Moreover, the officials found that the hideout in Chinnigam was 'a bunker inside an almirah'. The role of locals in sheltering the terrorists is also being investigated.

The four terrorists killed in Chinnigam have been identified as Yawar Bashir Dar, Zahid Ahmad Dar, Tawheed Ahmad Rather and Shakeel ah Wani.

"The encounter sites were in the interiors of Kulgam and were away from the national highway. The police and other agencies are keeping a close watch. This success is a result of that," an official said.
