Tata Boeing Aerospace Limited (TBAL) has marked a significant achievement by delivering the 250th fuselage for the AH-64 Apache attack helicopter from its cutting-edge facility in Hyderabad.
The delivered fuselages, as reported by Deccan Chronicle, cater to global customers, including the US Army and the Indian Army, with six recently ordered by the latter.
TBAL, a joint venture between Boeing and Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL), operates with a workforce of over 900 engineers and technicians.
The facility utilises state-of-the-art robotics, automation, and advanced aerospace concepts in its manufacturing processes.
The 14,000 sqm facility of TBAL also serves as the exclusive global supplier for Apache fuselages, showcasing the company's commitment to localisation and self-reliance.
Also noteworthy is the fact that more than 90 per cent of the Apache aerostructure assembly parts are manufactured in India, involving the collaboration of over 100 micro, small and, medium enterprises suppliers.
This accomplishment signifies a key milestone in TBAL's contribution to India's defence manufacturing ecosystem and highlights the success of the joint venture in meeting global standards while fostering domestic production capabilities.
