A day after his release from Tihar jail, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday (11 May) attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Kejriwal was released from jail after the Supreme Court granted him interim bail till 1 June to enable him to campaign for the Lok Sabha elections.
Addressing a press conference at Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) office in Delhi, Kejriwal alleged that the BJP under PM Modi wants to crush AAP.
"They want to crush us, but the Aam Aadmi Party is an idea. It will keep growing the more they try to finish us," Kejriwal said.
"Modi ji has a very dangerous mission — 'One Nation One Leader'. They will send all the opposition leaders to jail and manage all other BJP leaders and undercut them," Kejriwal alleged.
"The politics of (BJP leaders) LK Advani, Murli Joshi, Shivraj Chauhan, Vasundhara Raje, Khattar, Raman Singh has been finished. Yogi Adityanath is next. If he (PM Modi) wins, he will change UP Chief Minister within a month," he added.
Kejriwal, who did not resign as Delhi Chief Minister even after being arrested by the ED in the liquor policy case, further said that there is "a pattern to the BJP's attacks - jail all chief ministers in Opposition-ruled states and overthrow the government".
He pointed at how Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren was also "hounded" by central agencies, allegedly on the behest of the Central government.
"Even before this, dictators tried to take over the country, but the great people of the country overthrew them. Even today a dictator wants to end democracy from the country," he said while attacking PM Modi.
"I ask BJP, who is going to be your PM? He is turning 75 next September. He is the one who made the rule that those who turn 75 had to retire. He has to retire next year. I ask BJP, who is your PM pick?" Kejriwal asked.
He added, "Who will fulfil Modi‘s guarantee? Will Amit shah do it? When you go out to vote, remember, you are voting for Amit Shah, not for Modi."
