After the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) denied allegations that animal fat was used in the preparation of Tirupati laddoos when Jagan Mohan Reddy was the Chief Minister, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) presented a lab report to substantiate its claims.
Yesterday (18 September), Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu claimed that the famed Tirupati laddoos, distributed as 'prasad' at the Sri Venkateswara Temple, were made using animal fat under the YSRCP government.
YSRCP Rajya Sabha MP Y V Subba Reddy had called these comments 'extremely malicious.
The TDP today shared a copy of samples sent from the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam to Centre of Analysis and Learning in Livestock and Food (CALF) laboratory.
"The lab reports of samples certify that beef tallow and animal fat - lard, and fish oil were used in the preparation of ghee which was supplied to Tirumala and also the S value is only 19.7", TDP spokesperson Anam Venkata Ramana Reddy was quoted as saying.
This laboratory, part of the National Dairy Development Board in Gujarat, has confirmed the presence of animal fat in the ghee used for making the renowned Tirupati laddoos during the YSRCP administration, the TDP claimed.
The findings revealed that the ghee contained traces of fish oil, beef tallow, and lard—a semi-solid white fat derived from pig fat, the TDP added as per NDTV.
