Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday said that the alliance with the Congress is on in Uttar Pradesh.
"All is well that ends well...there is no dispute...there will be an alliance," Akhilesh Yadav said when asked about his absence from Rahul Gandhi's 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' in Amethi and Rae Bareli.
He also said that there was no dispute regarding the seat-sharing agreement for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in UP.
The SP chief's statement comes after speculations that the SP-Congress alliance in UP was on the verge of breakdown over the seat-sharing talks.
Akhilesh Yadav had last week said he would join Rahul Gandhi's yatra only after seat sharing was finalised.
According to the reports, of the 80 Lok Sabha constituencies in Uttar Pradesh, the SP has agreed to give 17-19 seats to the Congress.
Congress is likely to contest in Amethi, Rae Bareli, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Maharajganj, Deoria, Bansgaon, Sitapur, Amroha, Bulandshahr, Ghaziabad, Kanpur, Jhansi, Barabanki, Fatehpur Sikri, Saharanpur, and Mathura.
A final announcement on the seat-sharing agreement is reportedly expected at 5 pm or by Thursday latest.
