The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday (2 May) declared its remaining two candidates in Uttar Pradesh, for the 75 of the 80 Lok Sabha seats it is contesting in the state.
Incumbent Kaiserganj MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh's son Karan Bhushan Singh has been fielded from Kaiserganj as Brij Bhushan is facing sexual assault allegations from women wrestlers.
Dinesh Pratap Singh is fielded from Rae Bareli, where the Congress is yet to declare its candidate. Singh is the minister of State (Independent Charge) in the Yogi Adityanath cabinet.
He has been elected to the UP Legislative Council three times (in 2010, 2016 and 2022). He had earlier contested in 2019 against Sonia Gandhi and got over 38 per cent votes.
