150 kilometres (km) from Noida International Airport in Jewar and 190 km from Noida city, Uttar Pradesh is likely to have a new city near Agra, as reported by the Economic Times.
This city will be spread over an area of 10,500 hectares, which means approximately half the size of Noida. This is in anticipation of a population surge followed by the upcoming airport.
Yamuna Expressway Authority (YXPA) has invited consultants to create a 10-year master plan. They are required to consider several aspects such as connectivity with other cities, environmental impact assessment, and ways for sustainable growth.
Developing this city near Agra will kill two birds with one stone. It will enhance facilities for tourists coming to visit the Taj Mahal. Enhancing investment climate and promoting economic development is also one of the purposes of this city.
