  • The Uttarakhand government is working hard against the threat and spread of Covid-19. In the midst of its efforts, a breach came to light at the Doon Medical College in the state capital on Monday afternoon.

According to reports, state Congress leader Suryakant Dhasmana entered an isolation ward in a medical college in Dehradun to meet suspected cases. And now he has been home quarantined for 14 days.

A report says that he first spoke to doctors at the emergency ward about the preparations to fight Coronavirus. After that, he took a round of the hospital.

A report on the Aaj Tak website says that Dhasmana spoke to journalists after the round of the hospital:

Dhasmana has said that if he was quarantined, then the same should be done for the BJP MLA. According to a report, on the other hand, Khajan Das has said that he did not meet the patient, but had gone to know about the wellbeing of the suspected cases and maintained that he had not entered the restricted ward.

The Uttarakhand government has declared novel Coronavirus an epidemic. The hill state reported its first confirmed case of Coronavirus on Sunday.  In Dehradun, a  trainee officer of the Indian Forest Service (IFS) at the Forest Research Institute (FRI) tested positive for the virus.
