To defend former Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Nawab Singh Yadav accused of trying to rape a minor in Kannauj, SP leader Juhie Singh tried to shame the 15-year-old victim.

She said, "The girl was 15. So what sort of job she was looking for?" She claimed that the victim and her relative had known Nawab Singh for a long time and mockingly said, "Suddenly in the night, this incident happened. 112 is also dialed."

Juhie Singh demanded narco and DNA tests and "concrete evidence" if Nawab Singh is actually a culprit and if not, then those involved in the conspiracy should also be brought to the public.

Juhie Singh also expressed apprehensions over the girl's statement quoted by the Kannauj Superintendent of Police (SP) and said, "It shows certain opposite viewpoints which are not tallying."

Nawab Singh Yadav is accused of stripping off the clothes of the victim and then trying to rape her. But the victim dialed the 112 emergency number, responding to which, the police arrived in time and arrested Yadav.

Kannuj Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar Anand said that when the police reached Chaudhary Chandan Singh college, it red-handedly caught the accused in an objectionable position.

While the SP is claiming that Yadav was not active in the party for the past five to six years, he was seen on stage with Akhilesh Yadav and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during the 2024 Lok Sabah election campaign.

He is also considered close to SP national president Akhilesh Yadav and was known as 'mini Chief Minister' in Lucknow. He has been the MP representative of Akhilesh's wife Dimple Yadav.
