Why A US Doctor Wore A Picture Of His Smiling Face On His Hazmat Suit And Other Healthcare Heroes Are Picking The Idea

A doctor in the United States of America has come up with a creative measure to reassure patients amidst the Covid-19 outbreak and the fear and panic surrounding it.

On his hazmat suit, he has pasted a laminated picture of his smiling face. This is his way of bringing a smile to his patients while treating them.

According to this report, "Robertino, who works at Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego, took to his Instagram recently and shared a picture of himself dressed in Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)."

He took to Instagram to share the picture of himself dressed in PPE with a laminated picture of him on it. In the picture, Robertino wears a smile. It is calming. It is reassuring.

Healthcare workers across the world are fighting against Covid-19 round the clock, braving the threat of the disease and the risk of catching infection.

The doctor explained the idea behind the move in a note: "Yesterday, I felt bad for my patients in ER when I would come in the room with my face covered in PPE. A reassuring smile makes a big difference to a scared patient. So today I made a giant laminated badge for my PPE. So my patients can see a reassuring and comforting smile." (sic)

The picture has gone viral and has encouraged others to follow the example in their work towards helping patients face the challenges brought by Covid-19.

The report says: "Derek Devault, a nurse, took to Instagram to share a picture of him and his colleagues dressed in PPE, with a laminated badge pasted on it."

Derek's gesture brought more cheer to the man who began it all.

"I was sent this photo by @derekdevault they saw my photo online and wanted to share their smiles with their patients too. Amazing healthcare heroes. We chose this profession because of our compassionate heart." (sic)
