The Nishad Party has extended an invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to unveil a grand 56-foot statue honoring Nishadraj and Lord Ram in Prayagraj.

Sanjay Nishad, the national president of the Nishad Party and the Fisheries Minister of Uttar Pradesh, revealed that the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) has requested program details.

These statues, dedicated to Nishad king Guha and Lord Ram, who are depicted as close friends in various religious texts, will be erected at the historic Shringverpur fort in Prayagraj, once ruled by Nishadraj.

Prior to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP had pledged to the Nishad community that they would restore the fort and install the statues.

The party had previously sent an invitation to the PMO during the Nishadraj Jayanti celebration in March for the statue unveiling, but it didn't come to fruition. Sanjay Nishad expressed optimism that the PM would accept the invitation this time.

Recent events organised by the Nishad Party in Uttar Pradesh have witnessed prominent figures from the BJP participating. In March, the state government celebrated Nishadraj Jayanti for the first time, featuring a captivating light and sound show highlighting the legacy of the Nishad king.

Similarly, Deputy CMs Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, along with UP BJP President Bhupendra Chaudhary, attended the party's foundation day program. CM Yogi Adityanath also addressed the Sankalp Diwas program of the party in Gorakhpur in January.
