A viral audio alleged to be that of Tamil Nadu Finance Minister Palanivel Thiagarajan speaking to a Delhi journalist has surfaced on social media.
In the audio posted on Twitter by journalist Savukku Shankar, Thiagarajan can be allegedly heard saying “Both Udhay and Sabaree have realised, they have made more money in one year than they (unclear) entire lives and now it’s getting to be a problem, how to handle it, how to not get caught.. ...(unclear)..."
The audio comes at a time when both Udhayanidhi Stalin and the Organising Secretary of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) have sent legal notices to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president K Annamalai seeking damages of Rs 50 crore and Rs 500 crore respectively for allegations made by him while presenting the DMK Files.
Annamalai had alleged that Udhayanidhi could have been a beneficiary of the MoU signed between Noble Steels and the state government to invest Rs 1000 crore in the state.
He also alleged that Sabareesan, the son-in-law of Chief Minister MK Stalin was associated with companies abroad which have been accused of money laundering.
