Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and state Congress president Kamal Nath reached Chhindwara on Friday (20 October) after declaring a total of 229 candidates for assembly elections scheduled for 17 November.
"The environment is very good. People are calling us and telling us that there is enthusiasm amongst the people. We will win with an even better number than we had expected," Kamal Nath told ANI.
When asked about the allegations by Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav the Congress leader said, "Arey bhai chhodo Akhilesh Vakhilesh (leave Akhilesh)."
This comes a day after Yadav had accused Kamal Nath of making SP leaders sit at night till 1 am for discussions and even then not allocating any seat to SP under the INDI Alliance.
"If I had known that the alliance is not at the state-level, then I would have not sent SP leaders to Digvijaya Singh and Kamal Nath. If I had known that Congress would cheat us, I would have never trusted them," Yadav said.
