Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai blamed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for air pollution in the national capital, highlighting that the Centre and nearby state Haryana is ruled by the party, during a press conference on Friday (3 November).
"Stubble burning has reduced in Punjab. Moreover, it is distant and with no Northwestern wind flowing. Pollution is being caused by surrounding areas like Haryana, where 20 districts are polluted," Rai said.
Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) official handle posted a news report by Bhaskar on X which says that of the 52 most polluted districts in the country, 20 are in Haryana and only two are in Punjab.
Calling the next 15 days crucial for Delhi, Rai appealed to the people to use public transport including metro and buses to control pollution due to vehicles as Delhi’s air quality plummeted to the “severe plus” category on Friday morning.
