Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced Dr Mohan Yadav as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh. Narendra Singh Tomar was appointed as assembly speaker.
Malhargarh MLA Jagdish Devda and Rewa MLA Rajendra Shukla have been appointed as two deputy CMs of the state. The 58-year-old CM-designate replaces longest-serving BJP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
Yadav has earlier served as Cabinet Minister in the MP government, State President of the MP Wrestling Association and State Vice-President of the MP Olympic Association. He hails from the OBC community like Chouhan.
He became an MLA for the first time in 2013. He represents the Ujjain Dakshin (South) assembly constituency. He is considered close to Rashtriya Swayamasevak Sangh (RSS).
