Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot made controversial remarks against central investigative agencies Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday (27 November) after his son was summoned by ED in a forex violation case a day earlier.
"It is unfortunate that a CM has to say that our premier agencies CBI, Income Tax and ED are roaming more than dogs," he told media.
"What's happening in the country? Democracy is under threat. The Constitution has been tattered. ED, Income Tax and CBI are dancing on your (ruling government) tunes," he further added.
Claiming that he sought time from CBI and ED directors and Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) chairman, Gehlot said, "You (agencies) have become political weapon for the past 9 years and only raid leaders of the opposition."
Earlier, India TV News reported that Gehlot's son Vaibhav did not appear before the probing agency today and has sought time for 30 October. The summons have been issued in relation to a FEMA case.
