In Pictures: PM Modi Meets Bomman And Bellie Of Oscar Winning Documentary ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ In Tamil Nadu

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Bomman and Bellie, who were featured in the Oscar-winning documentary, ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ at the Theppakadu Elephant Camp in the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve today (9 April).

He interacted with the couple and appreciated their efforts. He also spoke to the mahouts and kavadis in the camp. Later he fed sugarcane to some of the elephant calves.

After that, he left for Karnataka where he addressed a session to commemorate 50 years of Project Tiger. During the session, he said “The Elephant Whispers documentary that won an Oscar also reflects our legacy of the wonderful relationship between nature and creatures. I urge you (foreign dignitaries) to take something from the life and tradition of our tribal society."
