Income Tax Raids In Jharkhand: Over Rs 100 Crore Cash Found At Congress Rajya Sabha MP Dhiraj Sahu's Ranchi Residence

In Jharkhand, a significant amount of cash has been seized from the residences of Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Dhiraj Prasad Sahu. The amount exceeds Rs 100 crore, as per Prabhat Khabar, however, no official confirmation has been given yet.

An almirah filled with notes was discovered. The counting of notes is still underway. Searches were conducted on Wednesday (6 December) at five locations, including the residences in Ranchi and Lohardaga.

Apart from the residence Sushila Niketan on Radium Road in Ranchi, raids were also conducted at one location each in Odisha's Balangir, Sambalpur, and Kalahandi.

The Income Tax department team also scrutinised documents at the Lohardaga residence. During this operation, no one was allowed to enter the premises, and the IT team worked from morning until late at night.

Dhiraj Sahu, a resident of Lohardaga in Jharkhand, is an old Congress leader who began his political career as a student leader in 1977. He is serving as a Rajya Sabha MP for the third time.
