Union Minister Prahlad Patel and BJP candidate for Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections was injured in a severe car accident on Tuesday (7 November) amid the ongoing poll campaigning.

While the minister suffered minor injuries, one party worker died in this accident and three are in critical condition. Patel was in Amravati in Chhindwara district for an election campaign, and he was returning from there.

The accident occurred near the Singodi Bypass when a biker came in front of his vehicle from the wrong side and in an attempt to save him, the driver applied the brake suddenly. Due to this, the vehicle went out of control and went off the road.

The car's airbags opened when the car collided, saving the minister's life, Navbharat Times reported. However, he suffered minor injuries. Patel's car was damaged in the collision. The biker who collided with the car is also injured.
