Madhya Pradesh: Himanta Biswa Sarma Challenges Kamal Nath To Bring Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi To Ayodhya's Ram Mandir

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma addressed a public meeting in Panna, Madhya Pradesh ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in the state on Monday (18 September).

Claiming that this country belongs to Lord Ram, he questioned Congress why Ram Mandir was not built during their tenure.

Sarma challenged former MP Chief Minister Kamal Nath to bring Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi to Ayodhya's "Ram Lala Mandir" once and then only ask for votes in the state.

"I know why you don't go to Ram Mandir, which community's vote bank you fear for. You do appeasement politics," Sarma said while highlighting Shivraj government's Torth Darshan Yojana.

Sarma also attacked opposition citing DMK leader Udayanidhi's statement where the latter compares Hinduism to malaria. He again challenged Kamal Nath to remove such leaders from the alliance if he is a "Hanuman Bhakta".

The Assam CM expressed his confidence about the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) winning 150 of the 230 assembly seats. He also recalled "dark days" of Digvijaya Singh's tenure as CM.
