According to Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and Raigad Lok Sabha MP Sunil Tatkare, the Maharashtra cabinet expansion and the allocation of cabinet portfolios will be concluded by the evening today (13 July).

As the ongoing power struggle continues between Shiv Sena, led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and NCP, led by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Pawar and Rajya Sabha MP Praful Patel traveled to Delhi on Wednesday afternoon to meet with BJP leadership and finalize the allocation of portfolios.

It is learned that Ajit Pawar can get the Finance Ministry and that's the bone of contention because the Shinde camp revolted against the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government over the same issue.

At that time, the Shinde camp had alleged that Pawar allocates funds to only those constituencies which have NCP MLAs.

However, BJP is trying to convince Shinde Sena that it is only giving that portfolio to NCP that the party itself holds. Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis is the current finance minister.
