National Investigation Agency (NIA) sought information on the wanted accused in San Francisco Indian Consulate attack case by releasing their photos on Thursday (21 September).
The case is of March 2023 when a group of pro-Khalistani protesters attacked and damaged the consulate, prompting sharp condemnation from the Indian government and India-Americans, who demanded immediate action against those responsible for it.
Seeking information from the general public, pictures of 10 wanted accused have been released. The agency has promised to keep the identity of the informers secret.
NIA release said that the accused caused injuries to consulate officials and damaged property. A total of three notices have been released, the first two have photographs of two accused each and the third notice has photographs of six accused.
Notably, the said consulate was again attacked on 2 July 2023 when a group of Khalistan radicals set the building on fire. The fire was suppressed quickly by the San Francisco Fire Department. No major damages or staffers were harmed.
