Nitish Recruiting Teachers From Other States To Expand His Base: Jitan Ram Manjhi Attacks Bihar CM's "Phulpur Greed"

Jitan Ram Manjhi, the patron of Hindustani Awam Morcha-Secular (HAM-S) and former Bihar Chief Minister, has strongly criticised CM Nitish Kumar for permitting candidates from other states to participate in the state's teachers' recruitment examination.

Manjhi expressed his dismay, stating, "By recruiting people from other states, JDU wants to expand in those states. It is profoundly regrettable that Nitish, driven by his greed for Phulpur, is jeopardising the future of the people of Bihar."

The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) recently conducted examinations for 1.70 lakh candidates within the state, with 1.22 lakh candidates achieving success. Notably, approximately 14,000 of these successful candidates hailed from other states with majority from Uttar Pradesh.

Being a part of the BJP-led NDA, Manjhi further asserted, "The recent meeting of JD-U leaders from Uttar Pradesh demonstrates Nitish Kumar's intent to expand his party's influence in other states through teacher recruitment in Bihar."

During a meeting, leaders from Uttar Pradesh visited Nitish Kumar and chanted slogans like, "Desh ka CM kaisa ho, Nitish Kumar jaisa ho." The delegation also urged Nitish Kumar to contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from Phulpur.

Phulpur is one of the 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh and lies in the Prayagraj district. It is a constituency that gave India two Prime Ministers, Jawaharlal Nehru and VP Singh.

Currently, the youth in Bihar are protesting the domicile policy of Nitish Kumar's government and are demanding its repeal. They have initiated a social media campaign highlighting concerns about individuals from other states securing government employment in Bihar while Bihari residents are relegated to daily wage labor in other states.
