Northern Railway Revenue Crosses Over Rs 10,000 Crore, Becomes Best-Earning Zonal Railway

Creating a record amongst all zonal sections of Indian Railways, Northern Railway's earnings crossed over Rs 10,000 crore in passenger and parcel segments, in FY 2022-23.

Though there were various constraints and challenges, Northern Railway has successfully crossed significant barriers in passenger, parcel, and other coaching earnings in the fiscal 2022-23, said Northern Railway general manager Ashutosh Gangal.

The final figures of the financial year are likely to be around Rs 11, 000 crore. Not only is this an all-time record for Northern Railway, but it also maintains its position as the best-earning zonal railway in the passenger segment.

The passenger earnings of Northern Railway are over Rs 4,000 crore higher than the second-placed railway.

Northern Railway’s revenue from the parcel business, of Rs 500 crore in FY 2022-23, is again the highest ever and the best amongst all zonal railways. This is approximately Rs 200 crore higher than the next-placed railway.

It has been a historic and the best-ever performance of Northern Railway in passenger and parcel segments during FY 2022-23.
